June Luncheon: Zoo Knoxville

Like the animal-focused organization it represents, the Knoxville Zoo brand is all about animals and wild places. The brand’s primary challenge? Conveying that singular focus to the world, while also representing the Zoo’s multifaceted nature and broad range of programming and objectives.
Ferebee Lane, a communications firm focused on narrative branding and marketing, was enlisted to help create a more cohesive, compelling brand for the zoo. In late 2014, work began with the Zoo to re-align it’s brand with visitor expectations and to increase overall brand recognition and regard.
Details and outcomes of this collaborative, three-phase process are outlined in this presentation, which concludes with a representative selection of branded assets and launch review. It’s been a wildly fun ride, and now – a brand new zoo!

In addition to learning about Zoo Knoxville’s new brand, you can also help support the zoo! Zoo animals receive a nutritious diet based upon their individual needs, but just like us, sometimes they enjoy a special treat. Feel free to bring any of the following food items with you to our luncheon June 8 to help the zoo treat their animals to a special snack:
– Applesauce (unsweetened only)
– Natural peanut butter
– Canned garbanzo beans
– Pitted prunes
Attendees that bring an item will be entered in a drawing to win a four-pack of zoo passes! It’s not required to bring items, but feel free to pitch in to help treat our animal friends and win a trip back to Zoo Knoxville in the process!
